28.10.2001 i finally got down to part II of tidying my room. its amazing how much stuffs i've accumulated over the years. most of the stuffs i kept i told myself 'i will need it one day'. uncovering them again months/years later, i realised i never missed them at all. i even realised how little material possession i actually need to get on with life. finally i threw out 7 bags of stuffs (in addition to the other 7 bags i threw out during part I). i found some old notes from my NUS film course (among other papers like "The future of Israeli air power" and a picture of Queen elizabeth picking her nose)and read a quote from Annie Hall "It was great seeing Annie again and I realized what a terrific person she was and how much fun it was knowing her and I thought of that old joke, you know, this, this this guy goes to a psychiatrist and says, Doc, uh, my brother's crazy, he thinks he's a chicken and, uh, the doctor says, well why don't you turn him in? And the guy says, I would, but I need the eggs. Well, I guess that's pretty much how I feel about relationships. You know, they're totally irrational and crazy and absurd and, but uh, I guess we keep going through it... because... most of us need the eggs." well.. wateverrr.. compressing that quote into a 2K htm file is alot more space-saving for sure. |
