<junkyard>

today, we went to a junkyard outside of beijing

it was cold and rainy this weekend and would have been nice to stay at home

but it was kinda cool to see where beijing's old stuffs go when they die

and a couple of my friends came back with old chairs (1USD), chests (3USD), and bed boards (2USD),

so cheap they might ws well give it away

when i first came to beijing, old chinese furniture was novel

but now, i think i've outgrown them

and have decided that new, fresh, clean cut lines are more of my thing

instead of a home looking like a museum

lunch was at a russian restuarant @ dongzhimen where they have beers for 0.60USD

finished off with some heavy duty chicken kiev and a debate on the EU expansion progress

and spent the rest of the day on my pictures of tokyo

and listening to my new carla bruni CD

feeling very light hearted and at ease

i could do with more days like this
