<what
grandpa saw>
0920hours
walking
from raffles medical clinic@caltex house to the office@hill street through
a deserted boat quay
clear
blue skies
gentle
breeze
i
just had to slow my pace, never mind that a meeting awaits in 10mins.
boat
quay without tourists, expats, SPGs, drunken teenagers, catfighting
lesbians, smoke, loud music, alcohol, american sailors, bankers-trying-to-look-cool
is
a gem.
everywhere
History screams out at me
office
used to be the old hill street police station. built in 1934, it was
also the site of the first jail in singapore.
(hence
all these stories abt the toilets and the gym on the fourth floor being
haunted. argh!)
i
much prefer the old white/grey windows. but still, i still marvel at
how majestic it looks from a distance.
before

now
i
like it that our neighbours in the building are orgs like the arts council
not
accounting firms & dodgy employment agencies
it's
nice walking pass these art galleries to the office
(even
if there are some really weird art in there. :P )
not
mobile phone shops, food courts & boutiques
so,
i'm rather disappointed that we are moving to the other side of
fort
canning hill to park mall in may
***
well,
beautiful day nevertheless.
